Based in Kansas, the Influence Films crew is made up of a select group of talented individuals from different media and entertainment backgrounds. The company has a "revolving door policy" and not many permanent members other than the people below.
The Influence Films Creative Team:
Jason Damian - Founder, Producer & Director ![]() Jason holds the place as the leader of the Influence Films team, having founded the company in September 2008. The term, "Look before you leap," definitely doesn't apply to Jason, who is impulsive, artistic, and full of drive. Long before Jason formed Influence Films, he released two independent music albums. Promotion for those albums included radio airplay and two of his music videos airing on television. In 2007, Jason took a turn from musician to website designer - helping two of his musical idols, Jodie Rocco and Linda Rocco design their official website and fan club. The website, RealMilliVanilli.com - The Real Milli Vanilli Voices offers in depth information about Jodie Rocco and Linda Rocco, along with the rest of the real singers behind Milli Vanilli. Once he had accomplished these dreams in the music related fields, Jason fulfilled another music related dream: working for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson! In the summer of 2008, he put his Bachelor of Arts degree in English to work, as a member of the editing staff working on Michael Jackson's third book. The book, "Thriller 25th Anniversary: The Book, Celebrating the Biggest Selling Album of All Time" allowed Michael Jackson the chance to share with the public his thoughts and reflections on the biggest selling album of all time, Thriller. As a result of helping edit the book, Jason was thanked personally by Michael Jackson inside the book! After the book was completed, Jason was selected personally to help edit faxes and other business documents for the King of Pop. Once the book was released, Jason felt inspired by working for Michael Jackson, and decided he wanted to follow another one of his dreams. He wanted to bring some excitement to fill the void in the Kansas City film community. As a result, in September 2008, Influence Films was born. Before he put together the Influence Films team, Jason studied directing, screenwriting, and video editing in depth. Once he felt he had a grip on those elements, he put together the Influence Films team. To date, Influence Films has released several short-films, including, "The Death of Spider-Man." The short-film stars Mike Vaughn as Spider-Man. (Mike Vaughn also portrayed Spider-Man in the popular video game, "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.") The short-film was dedicated to Michael Jackson. Jason currently has various film projects in development and plans to continue to follow his dreams. Tony Vo - Producer
Tony is a very skilled producer and is usually in charge of organizing the details for the projects to come to life. He also has a very fluid role on the team, from helping design costumes to filling in as a photographer, he is very versatile. From 2004 on, Tony has directed music videos and been involved in various video projects in Kansas City, Kansas for various companies and people. Tony also has a knack for photography and plans to expand his role as a photographer for Influence Films in 2010. He is also excited to help produce future projects. Kevin Bingham - Director of Photography Kevin brings with him to Influence Films, several years of experience in the film-making world. In addition, he also possesses a dry sense of humor as well as a keen wit. Kevin was born and raised in Northern California, primarily in Santa Rosa. At age 11, with a neighbor friend he would make a space epic on 8mm using a "Starbird" spaceship, a black backdrop, and fishing line. He would be influenced by such things as "Sesame Street", Warner Brothers' cartoons, Saturday afternoon matinee TV, and late night viewings of "The Twilight Zone."These influences would come to fruition, years later, with the rise of the digital revolution in photography and video. First it would be the DVD revolution with special editions containing commentaries and featurettes. Next would be a trip to the Great Britain in 2003 with a Fujifilm FinePix 2600 that would start his photo-enthusiasm, only to be heightened by the purchase of a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI in 2006. That same year, Kevin met Lancelot Mallia -- who would go on to become a friend and business partner in Iron Dragon Films. It would be their collaborative and complimentary skills that would set them on the course of film-making. To find out what Kevin is currently working on outside of Influence Films, visit his official website.
